Influenced by American and British rock legends including The Beatles and Led Zeppelin, Sandhy Sondoro’s passion for music was cultivated from a young age. He dreamt of launching his career as a performer whilst staying with his uncle in California. However, those dreams were put on hold as he had to go to Germany for his studies. Possessing a voice reminiscent of Curtis Mayfield, Sandhy played in a covers band, busked, and sung at bars, clubs, and metros during his time there. His experience in Berlin’s metros inspired his debut single “Down On The Streets”.

He went on to perform at renowned theatres and music festivals, including the House of World Cultures in Berlin and the Bode Museum Isle Festival. He also appeared at charity concert Berlin For Asia in 2005. Sandhy found a wider audience through Stefan Raab’s casting show, which is a popular segment in one of Germany’s most successful late-night shows “SSDSDSSWEMUGABRTLAD”. His debut album “Why Don’t We” was released in 2008, before he achieved fame from finishing eighth at the New Wave International Contest of Young Pop Singers in Jurmala, Latvia in 2009. Diane Warren invited him to sing at the legendary The Palladium Theater in Hollywood for a PBS special TV broadcast, which also featured the likes of Celine Dion, Cher, Toni Braxton, and many other legends.

In 2008, he was bestowed the medal of honour Satya Lencana Karya Satya by the Indonesian embassy in Berlin for his contribution to the country. His last album “Beautiful Soul” was released in 2018, while latest single “Jadilah Cinta” came out in 2020.
